Contribution and Impact

SharkOnTheStreet is Not a Business.

I had ideas, I had money, I needed growth. This website was started as a tool for my personal development. It is a special journey to create something that provides an output. Power and fulfillment come not from living in our world, but in crafting it, from contribution and impact.

This website has real financial costs. There are recurring fixed costs required to keep the site online as well as the variable costs of my labors in adding content. That’s hundreds of dollars a year and countless hours of time. The site generates no revenues. I do not expect to see a direct financial return on this investment. However, I hope that you can find value in what I have created here, in what I am producing. If you do and would like to give back, it is always appreciated. I’ve detailed several ways of going about this below.

Invest in Yourself or Pay It Forward

Before you financially contribute to anything, you must first take care of yourself. It pains me to hear about people who give money away to faceless organizations that are in a much better financial position than their average benefactors. “Grassroots donations” just means shaking down the populace for loose change. Once you are undeniably financially successful, you can look for fulfillment through contributions that demand respect. Never underestimate the value of a dollar in your own pocket.

As you take care of yourself, I encourage you to take care of your network. Be the rising tide that lifts the boats. If you find something on this site to be valuable, sharing it with a close friend or family member multiplies its impact. Gift a nephew an ounce of silver, propose a unique financial perspective at the dinner table, help a coworker open a High Yield Savings Account, talk to a friend about what’s going on in the markets. These are all ways you can further my work, while improving the financial intelligence/situation of those around you.

Bitcoin

A direct contribution toward something small has outsized impact over the same contribution toward something large. In other words, if you want to support the site, the best way to do so is monetary contribution that will offset the associated costs and provide increased incentive for growth.

If you are a sophisticated Bitcoin user, I think it would be interesting to use Bitcoin for what it was designed for, the electronic transfer of financial value. I’ve listed my Bitcoin address below and provided a QR code you can use to avoid typos.

If you are new to Bitcoin and don’t feel comfortable sending money this way, I completely understand. There is always a risk you send the Bitcoin to the wrong person. I would prefer you held onto your money instead of neither of us having it.
